Kim told Oprah that she became Kanye’s girlfriend after being friends with him for 6 or 7 years, and after knowing him for over a decade because maybe it was the right time for them to meet — after they’ve gone through the experiences they’ve both gone through.
For her, I’m thinking the illicit tape, and painful 72-day marriage, as well as the death of her dad, were experiences that matured Kim.
She told Oprah that Kanye could relate because he lost his mom, a woman so close to him. And I’m sure his break-up with Amber Rose played into his life experiences.
